Meet the Author

Hi there! I’m Keturah Ford and I’m on a mission to help build up crisis-impacted women and families through the truth of God’s Word, prayer, and practical tools. Mommyhood Deconstructed was birthed in 2019 to challenge the facade of the ”perfect family” while encouraging mothers to embrace and not shun the beauty of being vulnerable and completely ”undone” in the presence of a loving God.

I attribute much of my interest in the dynamics of family to my personal experiences of being the eldest of six children and uniquely connected to literally hundreds of relatives through my father and late mother’s equally large families.

My first internship and work experiences were spent with families in crisis almost twenty years ago. It was there I began learning how to help others adopt what is healthy despite the flaws and imperfections of real life. I hold degrees in both Sociology (BA) + Education (M.S. Ed.) and am trained in Biblical Counseling.

Cool facts about me: Wife of almost 15 years, Mother to a spunky second grader, Former Family Literacy Educator & Math Adjunct, Born in Miami, Florida, Current New Jersey resident, Water Park + Beach Enthusiast, Foodie, Park Walker, Traveler, and Bargain Shopper

Through Mommyhood Deconstructed, I simply serve as an advocate and supporter of soul care for mothers as a means for establishing healthier individuals, families, and homes.

Just Disciple defines soul care as the daily process of cultivating healthy thought patterns and taking inventory of emotions so that you can walk in obedience and live freely before God while also healthily forming meaningful relationships with other people.

I understand firsthand the importance of such practices as much of what I testify about in the first installment of the Mommyhood Deconstructed Devotional Series (2020) is based on my own personal need to “lay it all out” before God in order to be a healthier Believer and mother.

This reflective approach has been embraced by countless great grandmothers, grandmothers, and mothers who also see the importance of caring for their souls as they care for others.
